Disagreements in at work

No matter who you are, or what your position is, at some time you will need to object to someone's idea or have your idea objected to.  Depending on how you object or handle the objection determines how professionally you will be regarded.

Though it is human nature to defend your idea, arguing is not a good idea.  It is more import ant to get to the root of the objection or explore the idea fully.  Do not assume that others are wrong for objecting with you, or an idea you do not agree with.  The more you argue the more they will fight or defend their point of view.

Suggestion:  Use question forms to explore the idea or point of view to uncover the thought process behind it.  Who knows you, may modify your ideas.
